A Full Stack Developer is a highly skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front and back end
programming. They are responsible for developing and designing front end architecture, ensuring the
responsiveness of applications and are required to see out a project from conception to the final product, requiring
excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

 

Primary Purpose

  • Participate and work with development teams to design and create scalable software
  • Write clean and functional front and back-end code
  • Test and fix bugs or other coding issues

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing front end website architecture.
  • Designing user interactions on web pages.
  • Developing back end website applications.
  • Managing and maintaining servers and databases for functionality.
  • Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
  • Working with graphic designers, UI and UX personnel for web design features.
  • Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
  • Designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture
  • Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Create security and data protection settings
  • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
  • Write technical documentation
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software
  • KPIs:
    • Meet all deadlines with regards to team and individual projects
    • Meet all deadlines with regards to external partner projects

Qualifications

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
  • Experience developing responsive applications
  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages, libraries and frameworks - PHP, HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap
  • Familiarity with databases (MySQL), web servers (Apache) and Web APIs (REST/SOAP)
  • Knowledgeable on UI/UX best practices
  • Familiarity with AWS’s suite of services
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • An analytical mind
  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
