An Online Professor is responsible for providing critical learning support and facilitation through direct and comprehensive guidance to students. This entails helping students identify their learning strengths and weaknesses and connect them with the resources necessary to extend the former and overcome the latter. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong technical proficiency, and a remarkable talent for organization.

Responsibilities

  • Builds student relationships and provides curricular-informed mentoring
  • Rapidly answers student questions related to subject matter they are studying
  • Provides direct, comprehensive program guidance to assigned students
  • Maintains regular communication with students in accordance with the university protocol
  • Tracks student participation to meet benchmark goals throughout each term
  • Assists students in their educational planning and progress from initial enrolment to graduation.
  • Evaluates student learning styles, skills, deficiencies and goals
  • Assists students in the development of Academic Action Plans
  • Identifies appropriate learning resources for the students
  • Monitors student academic progress by communicating with each student weekly on a personalized basis
  • Intervenes as necessary to assist those students having difficulties, and completes required University reports on their academic status.
  • Provides exceptional student support by responding to student questions per university KPIs
  • Assists with scoring student assessments according to pre-designed rubrics

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Industrial Relations, Information Technology, Human Resources or equivalent
  • Four (4) years related experience in the academe as an educator is required
  • Experience in Open University instructions, a definite advantage
  • Strong Organizational Skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Possesses outstanding communication skills and polished presentation style
  • Possesses strong outcomes-based orientation and track record of achieving results
  • Positive attitude, high energy, proactive, hardworking, and goal oriented
  • Able to work well in a team or independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be a team player receptive to new ideas, and can easily adapt to changes and work styles
  • Flexible and accommodating and able to go above and beyond the basic expectations when required
  • Willing to work on early morning or mid shift
