The main responsibility of the role is to research and obtain recent and relevant data using various methodologies and sources. This may include but is not limited to interviewing subject matter experts, scanning databases, or locate rare texts to get the information needed. The Research Specialist will work closely with the development team focusing on the Healthcare industry and will support the development of informational articles, tools and research to be uploaded as a central information database. This role will be heavily focused on writing articles and guides that will be used for a new software tool.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive research across various and complex topics, synthesise all information gathered and be able to present the data in clear and engaging ways
  • Assist in data collection and basic analysis for the development of tools that will be used in a new Healthcare software
  • Collect data on a broad range of topics (i.e. sports, music, entertainment, etc.)
  • Analyse gathered research data and design insightful reports to be able to deliver high value content and service
  • Develop and maintain shared databases; manage the timeliness and integrity of data
  • Maintain documentation of database contents and data flows to ensure that future verification and reproduction of results can take place
  • Make modifications in existing data gathering and statistical reporting procedures and assists in review and adoption of new procedures
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of the source data and seek out innovative, new sources to improve quality of content
  • Systematically retrieves and compiles information from a wide variety of information sources
  • Follow relevant news, trends and competitors' content, as well as conduct extensive research to develop expertise
  • Write and periodically revise in-depth informational guides and reviews as necessary
  • Pitch ideas for new content, guides and tools based on research into end-user needs and general trends
  • Prepare a variety of reports, presentations, tables, lists, charts, data sets, and/or diagrams for information from various fields
  • Prepares, maintains and updates files and internal databases; designs and generates a variety of background materials/notes and checks accuracy of facts and citations
  • Edit and proofread final text as required

Qualifications

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field with a solid interest in content researching
  • With at least 1-3 years’ relevant experience in web/content research but fresh graduates are welcome to apply
  • Experience with SPSS, statistics, market/qualitative research, and data analytics is an advantage
  • Excellent skills in using word processing, spreadsheets and presentation tools; Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • With extensive knowledge of research methodologies and techniques, data collection and maintenance, as well as analysing data
  • Ability to identify, extract, analyse and format data from a wide variety of standard and non-standard sources
  • Demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results
  • Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations
  • Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work
  • Flexible and committed; never too shy to think outside the box
  • With excellent communication skills, both oral and written
