Teaching Assistant

The Teaching Assistant will serve as a critical support role for the success of the clients and students. They are the primary source of subject matter expertise and targeted, personal evaluation of student work. They are experts in the academic program and are able to answer or obtain answers to the questions students may have about their academic work.

Responsibilities

  •  The position requires significant contact via email, instant messaging, and alternate forms of communication
  • Evaluate students’ submissions according to an in-depth rubric that is consistent with department expectations
  • Provide robust feedback to students on each submission
  • Answer content questions in their subjects and help develop subject guides, project instructions, or video presentations
  • Any other task/duty as directed by client/management

 Essential Functions

  •  Complete all scoring in assigned areas accurately and consistently, based on the rubric and department guidelines.
  • Write robust, targeted feedback for students who guide their efforts to mastery while ensuring they learn the material
  • Communicate and interact with all University faculty, students, and personnel in a professional manner
  • Actively participate in meetings and trainings as outlined by the Provost, Dears, Professors, and Team Leads
  • Assist as a Subject Matter Expert in the development and maintenance of assessments upon request at the option of the evaluator
  • Assist with scoring efforts in other areas for which qualified when needed
  • Satisfactorily perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be a Master’s Degree or PHD holder in a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a related field
  • Understanding and appreciation of competency-based education model
  • Fluent use of education technology platforms and common office software packages
  • Must be able to spend significant time working at a computer
  • Must have excellent writing and English language skills
  • Willing to work in Makati City and/or Taguig City
